The collection consists of orders, circulars, muster and pay rolls, quarterly and monthly returns of quartermaster stores, invoices, vouchers, and other papers, dealing primarily with Barnitz's military activities.

 Abstract:  Orlando Charles Risdon (1840-1894) was a Union officer from Ohio who organized and commanded the 53rd Colored Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War. In March 1865 he became a brevet brigadier general. The collection consists of correspondence, orders, reports, vouchers, bills, receipts, related military documents, a record book, a day book, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, printed items, maps and photographs.

 Abstract:  Picket Latimer and his brothers, Peter and John Mulford Latimer, were farmers in Huron County, Ohio. Picket and John also operated a general store, P. & J.M. Latimer, in Norwalk, Ohio. John's son, John Mulford Latimer, Jr., served as a captain in the 101st Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. The collection consists of photocopies of letters written to Picket Latimer regarding the business operations of his general store in the 1840s and copies of John Mulford Latimer, Jr.'s American Civil War service records.
